A green campus, a curriculum that takes the long view, and an institute built to strengthen the institutions Ghana runs on.
GIMPA sits on one of the greenest campuses in Accra, and trains the people who will govern Ghana's resources for decades. Sustainability for the Institute means both: caring for the hillside we occupy, and teaching public and business leaders to make decisions their grandchildren can live with.
The commitments below run across all four campuses — Greenhill, Tema, Kumasi and Takoradi — and through every school.

Tree cover preserved across the hillside, energy-efficient lighting in new refurbishments, water management, and a phased move away from single-use plastics at Institute events.

Energy economics and environmental policy at SOTSS, sustainable public financial management at SPSG, and responsible business teaching across the Business School's programmes.

Since 1961 the Institute's core work has been sustainability of a different kind — building the public institutions, and the people, that keep a country running well.
Of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals, five sit closest to the Institute's mandate.
The Institute welcomes partners and researchers working on governance, energy and environmental policy.
